With the constant support and encouragement given by the management through sports scholarships, the following students were selected to represent Anna University teams in the All India Inter University Sports competitions held this year.

VolleyBall

Volleyball Women's Team Achievements

• First Place in the Seethamma Trophy 2nd State level Inter Collegiate Volleyball Women Tournament on 31st December 2010 at D.R.B.C.C.C. HINDU COLLEGE - Pattabiram.

• First Place in PSN Trophy National level Inter Collegiate Volleyball Tournament on 2nd-4th Feb 2011 held at PSN Group of Institution - Tirunelveli. T.Preetha - III ECE has been awarded the best player of the Tournament.

• First Place in TIES Tournament Rolling Trophy on 16th-18th Feb 2011 held at Kings Engineering. College - Thanjavur.

• First Place in PCR Memorial Trophy State level Open- Volleyball Tournament on 20th Feb 2011 held at GOVT. Higher Secondary School, Irumbulikuruchi - Trichy.

Volleyball Men's Team Achievements

• Second Place in BHARATH Inter-Collegiate State level Volleyball Tournament on 17th & 18th Feb 2011 held at Bharath University - East Tambaram.

• Third Place in DCE IOB Inter-Collegiate State level Tournament on 8th Feb 2011 held at Dhanalakshmi Engg. College - West Tambaram.

Cricket

• Third Place in SAIRAM Rolling Trophy on 31st Jan & 4th Feb 2011 held at SAIRAM Engg. College - West Tambaram.

• Third Place in DCE IOB Inter-Collegiate State level Tournament on 16th- 18th Feb 2011 held at Dhanalakshmi Engg. College - West Tambaram.

Tennis

• Silver Medal in ANNA SPORTS FEST Tournament on 27th & 28th Feb 2011 held at Anna University - Chennai.

• Fourth Place in TIES Tournament Rolling Trophy on 20th-22nd Feb 2011 held at Kings Engg. College - Thanjavur.

FootBall

Loncious Britto of 1st EEE was selected to represent Anna University team for the 1st time from our college in the All India Inter university Football tournament held during December 2009 at Coimbatore.

Fencing

Srinath M.R of 2nd Aero was selected for Anna University fencing Team and won the 5th place in the All India Inter University Fencing Championship held at Chandigarh during February 2010.

State & City Level Tournaments

U. Imrangani of 2nd MCA won Bronze medal in the Triple Jump in the Dual Athletic Meet organized by Srilanka Athletic Association along with Chennai District athletic association at Nehru Stadium, December 2009.

The young Volleyball women teams impressed the audience with their outstanding performance and were able to enter semifinals along with the best teams in the city held in this year.

In the State Level Inter Collegiate Tournaments organized by JBAS College, our team was able to beat Queen Mary's College in the quarterfinals, WCC and Easwari Engineering College in the semifinal league to enter the finals and the team secured 2nd place.

In the Vels Srinivasa College of Engineering, KC TECH Team secured 3rd place by winning against Vels University in the semifinals league.

KC TECH Team secured 3rd place in the JETS State Level organized by St. Joseph College of Engineering held between 6th to 8th of March.

KC TECH Team secured 3rd place in the Chancellor Trophy organized by Hindustan University.

KC TECH Team secured 4th place in the Vels University Inter college Tournament.

K. Anusree represented Chennai District in the Sub Junior State Championship and team secured 1st place.

T. Preetha of 2nd ECE participated in the Youth State Volley ball Championship and the team secured 3rd place.

KC-TECH Men Volleyball team secured 1st place in the open tournament held in Karapakkam village held in this month

Athletics

Our college secured overall 2nd place in men and women category in Zone III Athletic Championship held in the month of 2009 at Nehru Stadium.

KC Tech Athletic women's team won Silver Medal in 4*100 mts Relay.

The men's team won Silver medal in 4x400mts Relay.

The men's athletic team came 3rd in 4x100 Relay.

Suman of 4th CSE won bronze medal in 1500mts.

U.Imrangani of 2nd MCA won Bronze medal in 1500mts.

S.Karthi of 3rd Aero won Bronze medal in 400mts and 800mts Run.

K.Geetha of 2nd IT won Bronze medal in 100mts and 200mts long jump.

Aruna of 2nd CSE won Bronze medal in Short Put.

Boxing

S. Ramprasad of 3rd Mech won Bronze medal in the Anna University Inter Zone Boxing Middle Weight Category on 29th 2009 at Nehru Stadium, Chennai.d.

Sports Day 2009-2010

Physical Education Department of KCG College of Technology organized inter Departmental Games Competitions in the following Games: Basketball (M), Ball badminton (M), Chess (M&W),Football (M), Cricket (M), Hockey (M), Kabbadi (M), Tennis (M), Table Tennis (M&W), Carrom (M&W), Billiards (M), Volleyball (M), Throw ball (W). The XIIth Annual Sports Day was conducted on 19-03-2010. The Welcome Address was read by our Principal. The Chief Guest Lt.Col. A.K.Rao received the March Past Salute. Track and Field Events were started after the Physical Director Ms S. Shankari read the Annual Sports Report . Address by the Chief Guest was followed by the Prize distribution by Lt.Col. A.K.Rao and Miss V. Jeyalakshmi. The Department of Mechanical Engineering Won the Over all Championship Rolling Trophy.

I sincerely thank Principal, Chief Sports Advisor Mr.Jaishankar Menon VP. Admin, VP. Academic, Deputy Registrar, and Staff for the constant support extended for the sports activities of our students. I thank the Almighty for Blessing all the untiring efforts taken by Director (Admin) for the growth of our College.
