Faculty

The faculty members of the college not only guide the students in their academic pursuits, but also channelise their thoughts and actions in the positive direction. They encourage the students to develop their talents in extra and co-curricular activities. Their efforts are concentrated on achieving all-round development of the students and in moulding them into good citizens.

The faculty comprises highly qualified and experienced professors who are from reputed institutions like the Indian Institute of Technology, Indian Institute of Science, Indian Institute of Management and Anna University. Apart from full-time professors, visiting professors from various industries and research organizations in-and-around Chennai, deliver guest lectures and provide guidance. Moreover, eminent academicians from U.K. and U.S.A. and consultants of various industries provide additional inputs and impetus to the various programmes and ensure that graduating students are sufficiently exposed to industrial practices.

The faculty aims to help the students to achieve their best in their chosen field. To meet this aim:

Dr. T. Ravi, HoD, Computer Science, is a recognized research supervisor for Anna University, Coimbatore and Hindustan University, Chennai.

Dr. Ramanathan, Professor of Mathematics, S&H Department, has been appointed a research supervisor for Anna University, Chennai.

Dr Amrutha, Assistant Professor of Physics, S&H Department, has got the approval as a research supervisor for Hindustan University.

Our Staff in Various Committees

Dr. T. Ravi HOD/CSE was invited as Session Co-Chair for IEEE sponsored International Conference on Global Computing & Communication ICOGCAC’09, Hindustan University, Chennai, on 9th December, 2009.

Dr Albert P’Rayan has been appointed a reviewer and member of the editorial board of the e-journal LACLIL (Latin America Content and Language Integrated Learning). He has already been a member of the editorial board another journal ESP-World.

• Dr. Anita Manuel, Assistant Professor of English, presented a paper on “Politics of Ecological Displacement and Conflict in Amitava Ghosh’s The Hungry Tide ”, at the Fourth International Conference of Organization for Studies in Literature and Environment on ‘Ecology: Texts and Contexts’, held on 25 and 26 September 2009.

  
  

• Dr. Albert P’ Rayan, Assistant Professor of English, made a presentation on “Enhancing learning in Mixed Ability Classes”, at the Fourth International and 40th Annual ELTAI Conference held between 7th and 9th August’09, at JBAS College for Women, Chennai.

  
  

• Dr. Albert P’ Rayan delivered a key note at UGC sponsored National Seminar on “Communication Skills in Globalized Scenario”, held on 11th and 12th September 2009 at Smt. Kallawwa Shivappanna Jigalur Arts and Dr. Sushila Murigappa Shashgiri Commerce College, Dharwad, Karnataka.

• Mr.N.Vivekananthamoorthy,HOD-IT presented the following two papers : ‘New paradigms for Innovation in Teaching and Learning Process’ and ‘ An Effective E- Learning Framework Model- A Case Study’ at the 7th International Conference on ICT and Knowledge Engineering held at Siam University, Bangkok, Thailand on Dec1-2, 2009. The papers were authored by N.Vivekananthamoorthy, S.Sankar, R.Siva and S.Sharmila.

  
  

• Mr. P. Chinniah presented a paper entitled Design of Medical Devices and Software Information System at the International conference on Signals, Systems and Communication on December 21-23,2009

  
  

• Paper entitled IC 10 Based Medical Expert System using Fuzzy Temporal Logic by Mr.P.Chinniah was published in the International Journal of Computer Science and Information security, Vol.6, N0.3,2009

  
  

• Ms. G. Renganayaki presented a paper entitled Design of an efficient Low power Shift Register Using Double Edge Triggered Flip Flop on 10 -11 February 2010 at Hindustan College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore. This paper won the best paper award.

  
  

• Paper titled Detection of Skin Cancer Using IFS and Spatial Data Mining Techniques, was presented by Dr. T. Ravi, HOD/CSE in IEEE sponsored International Conference on Global Computing & Communication ICOGCAC’09, arranged at Hindustan University, Chennai, from 8 -10th December, 2009.

• Paper titled Distributed Computing with XML Documents authored by Ms.Minu Thomas and Ms.Sheeja Sudheer, Department, has been accepted for presentation at the National Conference on Parallel and Distributed System,[NCPADS’10] at Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai, on 26February2010.

• Dr.Edwin Geo and Dr.B.Nagalingam authored a paper titled: “Experimental Investigation to Improve the Performance of Rubber seed Oil Fuelled Diesel Engine by Dual Fuelling with Hydrogen.” which was published in the international journal, International journal of Green Energy, UK, August, 2009.

• Dr. T.Ravi’s paper “A walk through statistical analysis towards Software engineering perspective on Multicasting”, was accepted for International Joint Journal Conferences in Computer, Electronics and Electrical 2009 – CEE 2009, Finland and also published in International Journal of Recent Trends in Engineering [ISSN: 1797-9617] by the Academy Publishers, Finland.

  
  

• Dr. Anita Manuel wrote a short story titled, “Lengthening Shadows”; which has been published in “The Shrinking Women and Other Stories”, Unisun Publications, 2009.

  
  

• Dr Albert P’Rayan has been writing a weekly column “English Matters” in Education Express, a weekly supplement with The New Indian Express since May 2006. He has contributed over 200 articles on the English language and ELT.
